Welcome to Candide land
Candide, the legendary progressive punk trio, erupts as a kind of theatrical fever dream: a shambolic yet exacting northern soul dancer, the mighty boosh of rock.
Garage-guitar fireworks collide with Baroque-esque melodrama. These are the melodies of a boy band exploding at Chornobyl; a sneering punk tantrum dissolves into a strange, tender confessional.
In Candide’s visual universe, centurions and aliens crucify the band, Shakespeare rises from the dead to rap, and the ghosts of ex-lovers frighten audiences to an early grave. Live, Candide works more like an immersive theatre production than a band: face paint, noise, hooks, sweat and ecstatic hysteria.
Our second EP was recorded with Michael Smith (Wolf Alice, Anteros) at RYP Studios in Rayners Lane. Between incessant Wetherspoons trips, the lads did manage to crack out five studied, sharp rock and roll tracks.

Eddie
Vocals, guitars, synths.
Sings, shouts, plays guitar and will jump off anything taller than a monitor. One third of the songwriting, the arguing and the van driving.
Jasper
Vocals, bass, keys, synths.
Holds down the low end and the “clever bits” in the arrangements. One third of the songwriting, the arguing and the van driving.
Milo
Vocals, drums, percussion, keys, synths.
Hits things very hard and keeps the whole thing off the rails. One third of the songwriting, the arguing and the van driving (used to have the best hair).
